Cattrall's Acting Roots in Vancouver Theatre
Kim Cattrall, known for her infamous role as Samantha Jones in the popular HBO series Sex in the City (1997), has always had strong ties to BC. Her family now lives on
Vancouver Island and she was cast in many Vancouver theatre productions in the 1980's.
After graduating from high school in BC, Kim moved to the United States to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
She landed her first major acting role in the movie Rosebud (1975), and gained valuable television experience working for Universal in Los Angeles. Her recent lead role was in the polical movie thriller, Ghostwriter. To this day, Kim continues to act on stage and contributes generous funds to the Vancouver Youth Theatre society.

Michael makes it big in Hollywood
Michael J. Fox grew up in
Burnaby Vancouver, where he developed a passion for acting. In 1979, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. Michael landed a leading role as Marty McFly in the successful movie trilogy Back to the Future.
He is also known for his successful lead comedic roles in the TV sitcoms Family Ties and Spin City. Michael has won numerous Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for his movie and television work, and since the 1990's has struggled with late onset Parkinson's disease. As a result, he started the Michael J.Fox Foundation to find a cure for Parkinson's disease through funded research initiatives.

Star Pamela Anderson: A Babe from BC

The sultry star Pamela Anderson was born on Canada Day, July 1st in 1967 in Ladysmith, British Columbia. She was discovered at a BC Lions game after being displayed on the big screen wearing a Labatt's t-shirt.
After posing for Playboy, she landed a lead role as a sexy lifeguard in 1990's television series Baywatch.
She also acted in the comedic film Borat, and is known in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most downloaded star on the internet. Pamela participated in the 10th season of Dancing with the Stars, a popular North American reality television series, and is an advocate for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

International Musician Bryan Adams
The world famous singer-songwriter Bryan Adams was born in Ontario, but spent a large part of his youth in Vancouver, BC. He soared to number one on the top 40 charts worldwide with the release of his single "Everything I do, I do it for you"- this Grammy Award winning song was written for the movie Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner. Another smash hit was his single "Summer of 69" from the 1984 album Reckless.
Along with countless Canadian Juno and Grammy awards, Bryan Adams has received both the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia.
Artist Nelly Furtado Rises to the Top

Victoria BC , Nelly Furtado began her passion for music at the early age of 4 singing in church, and by age 9, she was playing the trombone and ukulele. She landed her first record deal with Dreamworks Records in 1999 and never looked back! Her Grammy award winning single "I'm like a bird" was a hit world-wide. This song was featured in the 2000 album Whoa Nelly, which sold 7 million copies globally. She gained even greater success selling 8 million copies of her third album Loose.
Nelly Furtado continues to create a fusion of sounds inspired by hip-hop, acoustic, R&B, electro, Portuguese & African music styles and beats.

Diana Krall: Vocal and Jazz Sensation
After many successful album releases, Diana Krall is indeed one of the most commercially successful jazz artists in North America. She was born in
Nanaimo British Columbia, where she began to perform professionally at age 15. While visiting Nanaimo, Ray Brown discovered this talented artist and encouraged her to pursue a career in Los Angeles. Her mentors include the likes of Jimmy Rowles and Rosemary Clooney who inspired her
jazz music early on.
Winner of many Juno and Grammy awards, she was also awarded the Order of BC for her success as a modern jazz pianist and vocalist.
