From Vancouver

Whistler Blackcomb is situated 115km north of Vancouver in the Coastal Mountains. The typical drive time from Vancouver in good weather is two hours. There’s only one road into Whistler so as long as you can find your way onto Highway 99, you won’t get lost.

Highway 99, otherwise known as the Sea-to-Sky Highway, offers some beautiful views of Howe Sound before heading inland through some mighty mountain scenery.

The town of Squamish lies mid-way between Whistler and Vancouver and is a handy refuelling stop. If you want to sightsee, there’s Shannon Falls just off the highway before you hit downtown Squamish. From Squamish, it’s another 40-45 minutes in good weather conditions.

There’s also Brandywine Falls a few kilometres out from Whistler. Brandywine Falls are not as high as Shannon Falls but they are quieter and the viewing spot overlooking Daisy Lake is stunning.

From Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

YVR to Whistler is 138km. Avoid the Vancouver rush-hour and bad weather and the drive will take around 2 and a half to 3 hours.

By bus

From Vancouver

Greyhound services to Whistler start at the Main Terminal at Pacific Central Station in Station Street with several pick up points in the downtown core.

From Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

The YVR Whistler SkyLynx from Pacific Coach Lines runs regular daily services and tickets can be purchased from the international and domestic arrival area. Expect a three-hour trip.

If you have cash to flash, there are a couple of limousine services that offer airport to Whistler drops.

Ski buses, ski shuttles, snow buses etc, can be boarded at all points from Vancouver International Airport, downtown Vancouver, Richmond and West Vancouver.

By train

The Rocky Mountaineer Whistler Sea to Sky Climb is all about the sightseeing and the experience. The train departs once a day from North Vancouver and takes passengers on a journey along coastline, through canyons and past the Tantalus mountain range before heading to Whistler. Not an option if you are in a hurry or on a budget.

By air

A scheduled floatplane service with Whistler Air runs from Coal Harbour in downtown Vancouver to Green Lake just outside Whistler Village. Surprisingly, prices compare favourably with the Whistler Sea to Sky Climb.

Chartered services are also available with the same company from Vancouver International Airport.

Whistler has its own heliport and flights can be booked through several companies from the South Terminal at Vancouver International Airport and the Vancouver Harbour Heliport.
