Government in Vancouver BC
Residents of Vancouver can vote for government on a municipal, provincial and federal level. The government in Canada uses the first-past-the-post voting system. This means that the leader of the political party with the highest number of seats is asked to form a government. The representative of each electoral district with the highest number of votes wins a seat in the House of Commons at the federal level, or legislative assembly on a provincial and territorial level.
